A lifetime of Syd
At the end of August in the summer of 2025 Andy brought Syd to Haskel Hill in Wilmington Vermont for a family weekend to celebrate his mom’s upcoming birthday. On a sunny, peaceful Saturday, while getting ready to take a family photo Syd hear Andy’s dad call down from upstairs, “We aren’t quite ready yet, you guys should go on ahead of us to pick a spot at the lake!” Despite Syd’s protests that they should wait for the family, once she was reminded about the dog hair in his parent’s car, she was more than happy to go separately. Upon arriving at Lake Raponda Syd saw a fence overtaken by wildflowers with the water sparkling in the sunlight. As they arrived at the fence, Andy hugged Syd tightly, saying “I love you so much… and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” to which Syd responded “Andy… what are you doing”. Andy dropped down to his knee, asked Syd “Will you marry me?” Syd exclaimed “YES! Of course!” Syd gazed down at the stunning ring which she and Andy had designed together, using his grandmother’s stone, “Put it on my finger!” she begged Andy. A shaking Andy guided the ring to Syd’s hand and attempted to match the band to her finger through the trembling. As the ring met Syd’s finger she drops down to hug and kiss Andy in absolute glee.

Dont Tell Syd!
After a quick photo session with some of their best friends and incredible photographers, Morgan Miller & Eryn Buck, the newly engaged Andy and Syd relaxed quietly by the lake. As the sun warmed their skin and glistened against the diamond’s edges and soft golden band. The two planned to meet the rest of Andy’s family, Morgan, and Eryn to get lunch at American Flatbread back in town. Upon their arrival Syd noticed how quietly empty the restaurant seemed, she saw one of Andy’s best friends and she ran up, eager to give him a hug. Not thinking much more of it, Syd allowed Andy to continue to lead her towards the back of the restaurant still expected a small lunch. As the doors opened a crowd of joyful, familiar faces flooded the landscape and Syd fell back into Andy’s chest crying tears of joy, excitement, and utter surprise. Hugging each one of their guests, they shared their individual stories of deceptions, anxieties, and excitement at keeping the secret for months on end. As the couple was showered with congratulations, they floated amognst their guests, taking photos, soaking up the encouragement, and basking in the love that surrounded them.
